Our Management Consulting Practice is growing due to client demand across North America & Europe, and we are interested in hiring a Human Resources Manager that can help us through the next phase of the firm’s growth and lead with clarity.

Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager will be based in our Toronto Headquarters and manage our firm’s growing Corporate Services and Consulting staff in Canada, the U.S. & Europe.

Our team is under 100 employees, and we are keen to appoint a “hands on builder” that will take our present policies, procedures and processes to implement them and further enhance and develop the HR function in line with the strategy and direction of the Senior Management Team. This is not a reactive role—our ideal candidate will set clear policies, procedures, and processes that employees follow, ensuring consistency as well as being passionate about building a robust HR infrastructure that supports business goals.

Your Remit

The HR Manager has 1 HR Associate as a direct report and will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Director, Payroll Analyst & Finance Director to onboard, induct, train, manage and develop our employees. The Position will be responsible for driving business results as a member of the Management team . This position is in-office, five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding

    • Assist the HR Associate in managing the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, handbooks, reviews and processes documenting them for each employee in our HR system & creating follow ups.
    • Review & update onboarding process for North American & European staff as required.
    • Own HR operations including offboarding, and employee lifecycle management.
Employee Relations Management

    • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations across Canada, U.S., and Europe.
    • Resolve issues with a business-first mindset, ensuring fairness and consistency.
    • Maintain a strong presence and visibility across teams to foster trust and accountability.
    • Coordination of ‘value excellence’ programs to reward employees for their contributions to the success of the firm.
    • Assist in workplace investigations to ensure compliance with policies, laws and regulations.
Performance Management

    • Help to coordinate the bi-annual performance evaluation process and support managers in employee evaluations.
    • Enhance our learning & development in line with employees’ requirements.
HR Policy, Compliance & Process Development

    • Update and communicate HR policies and procedures.
    • Design, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and workflows.
    • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations in all operating regions.
    • Standardize HR practices across geographies while respecting regional nuances.
    • Oversight of the company vacation, sick day, flex time and bereavement day tracking.
    • Oversee the company drug testing compliance program and ensure that staff are adequately credentialed for the work they perform.
    • Display role-model business acumen and communicate Company tasks, assignments, policies and procedures with clarity.
    • Oversee immigration processes, including work permits & visas for international employees, if required.
Compensation & Benefits

    • Assist in the administration of compensation and benefits programs.
    • Oversee compensation benchmarking & analyze market trends to ensure competitive offerings.
    • Liaise with Talent Acquisition to develop Country specific benefits ensuring equitable benefits across regions.
    • Partner with finance and leadership on salary reviews and budgeting.
HR Data & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate HR records on all employees through the HRIS system.
    • Generate weekly & monthly HR Management reports for leadership.
    • Use HR metrics to inform strategic decisions.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years progressive HR experience and CHRP qualified.
  • Experience managing a small to mid-sized workforce (
  • Proven ability to implement and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • Superior people-management ability with demonstrated experience managing a junior team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Bamboo preferred and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Works with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience in a consulting firm or professional services environment will be considered an asset.
