The Opportunity
We’re looking for a people leader who is passionate about building great workplaces and helping team members thrive. The Director, People & Workplace will oversee all aspects of our People function across Canada and the U.S. This is a unique opportunity to shape the function in a fast-growing, cross-border company. Reporting to the SVP, People & Workplace, you’ll lead a small but mighty team and serve as a trusted advisor to our leadership group.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Strategy & Leadership: Design and deliver people strategies that support business growth and reflect our values.
- People Programs: Oversee performance management, compensation, engagement, health benefits, and recognition programs that help us remain competitive.
- Culture & Engagement: Develop initiatives that strengthen engagement, belonging, and the overall team member experience.
- Coaching & Support: Partner with leaders on workforce planning, development, and team member relations, balancing empathy, fairness, and compliance.
- Policy & System Management: Ensure policies, practices, and our HR systems are current, scalable, and compliant with Canadian and U.S. employment legislation.
- Budget & Team Leadership: Help develop and manage the People team’s budget, while mentoring and supporting your team’s growth.
- Multiple years of progressive HR/People experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment laws and practices.
- Experience leading cross-border people programs.
- Proven track record with performance management, compensation, and engagement initiatives. Bonus points if you’ve used Rippling and Culture Amp.
- Skilled in navigating sensitive team member relations with discretion and care.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.

Other Aspects
- Travel: 15% of your time traveling in US and Canada.
- Location: This is a hybrid position working two days per week in our beautiful downtown Toronto office.
- Salary: $160,000 to $180,000 + bonus + 4 weeks vacation + health plan + RRSP match. Final compensation will be determined based on your background, skills, and what you bring to the team.
