We are seeking a motivated and meticulous individual, with extensive experience conducting in vivo studies in accordance with Animal Use Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures, to join our team. You will contribute to the discovery of therapeutic antibodies and subsequent efficacy assessments, and through teamwork, innovation, and mutual support, together we will tackle the most challenging scientific problems.
How you might spend your days:
- Caring for multiple species and performing in vivo and ex vivo techniques to support in vivo studies
- Preparing and aliquoting reagents required for in vivo studies
- Overseeing in vivo day-of-study operations to ensure smooth execution and to maximize efficiency
- Collaborating with study leads, scientists, and cross-functional teammates, ensuring alignment on study protocols, animal welfare considerations, and animal macro- and micro- environment requirements of in vivo studies
- Ensuring accurate recording of in vivo data across all studies, and supporting teammates with data analysis as required
- Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and problem-solving solutions, while identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices to optimize workflow efficiency
- Contributing to the preparation of Animal Use Protocols (AUPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to comply with CCAC Regulations and Guidelines
- Training and mentoring team members to ensure compliance with safety policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
We'd love to hear from you if:
- You provide the highest level of animal care while overseeing and performing in vivo activities
- You are experienced with animal handling, dosing (IV, IP, SQ), and blood collection, and have a strong understanding of the 3Rs and research ethics
- You have 6+ years of experience in an in vivo research environment; a BSc, MSc, and/or experience with in vitro and ex vivo techniques are considered assets
- Managing competing priorities comes with ease for you, and you thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment
- You take pride in being a self-motivated person, fast learner, team player, and creative problem solver
- You have excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills, and are known for your accountability and reliability
- You are able to lift up to 25 kg, and are comfortable with long periods of standing and bending throughout your day
What we Offer:
AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $75,800 - $94,700 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
