Job Description:
- Champion a healthy and safe work environment by leading safety meetings, inspections, and compliance initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day leadership of shop and field staff, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Ensure repair quality by managing tooling, parts, technical issues, and warranty processes.
- Lead daily job reviews and ensure proper documentation and communication throughout the repair lifecycle.
- Manage technician productivity, bay assignments, and manpower allocation to meet service targets.
- Conduct mid-job reviews and provide guidance to technicians on work priorities and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with NSC regulations, including truck inspections, load securement, and hours of service.
- Maintain accurate timecard submissions and ensure work orders are closed and invoiced promptly.
- Foster a positive work environment and strong team engagement through clear expectations and development opportunities.
- Drive performance across KPIs including safety, customer satisfaction, service rework, and financial metrics.
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification or related service background is an asset.
- 3–5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair, preferably with Caterpillar equipment.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills in a shop or service environment.
- Strong understanding warranty, goodwill, and contamination control processes.
- Knowledge of NSC regulations, JHA procedures, and safety compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, time management, and people skills.
- Experience managing tooling, parts, and service logistics.
- Ability to foster team engagement and lead performance conversations.
- Desire to lead and develop a high-performing service team.
- Must maintain ability to drive company vehicle with an adequate drivers abstract.
- This position is based out of our Fort McMurray town shop location.
- This role will require the successful applicant to maintain presence in the field on customer sites.
- Permanent, full-time role.
- Monday – Friday, 5 x 2 schedule.
