As the Data Engineering Specialist, you will be a driving member of an integral team responsible for managing and maintaining data and analytics platforms and cloud-based services, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and efficient. You will play a key role in security, data engineering, data governance, and integration with other systems. This role also requires the ability to collaborate with key partners and to support members of your team.

How You Will Create Impact

  • User Access Control: Manage user accounts, assign appropriate permissions, and ensure secure access to data and analytics Assign roles and permissions based on users' job functions, safeguarding sensitive data.
  • System Updates: Monitor and implement software updates and patches to maintain system integrity and performance. Ensure that updates are compatible with existing applications and organizational workflows.
  • Change Management: Implementation of code changes, deployments, testing and validation in production environments.
  • Infrastructure as a Code: configure and implement IaaC solutions (ex: Terraform) and automate the provisioning and management of Azure resources and services such as subscriptions, resource groups, storage, Azure Databricks, and Fabric.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Configure, use and maintain continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure proper deployment of data solutions.
  • Documentation and Maintenance: Define and enforce a documentation system to capture the state of existing implementation, and to ensure ongoing maintenance and updates.
  • Tools: Some tools or utilities might require admin rights for installation, activation, or configurations.
  • Monitor the use of platforms and services for performance, reliability and cost.
  • Configure and implement security and data governance policies on the platforms and services.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive business value.
  • Effectively communicate findings to colleagues and a business audience and demonstrate influence.

To Join Our Team

  • You have 3 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.
  • You have completed post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • You have hands-on experience with Databricks platform, and experience in writing notebooks, clusters, Spark coding.
  • You have hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or Fabric.
  • You have experience in Azure Cloud including Azure Active Directory, ADLS, ADF, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Key Vault.
  • You have experience developing new code, code enhancements and code debugging using Python and/or R. Have a good understanding of version control tools like Git, Bitbucket.
  • You have advance knowledge of business intelligence, ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing architecture techniques/methodologies.
  • Having experience in Terraform, PowerShell script, Linux/Unit script, is an asset.
  • Having experience in Posit/RStudio platform support is an asset.
  • Having experience in Informatica PowerCenter is an asset.
  • Having experience with Gen AI-related technology including Azure ML and Azure OpenAI is an asset.
