Why this role is important?
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Healthcare Businesses, the Vice President, Healthcare Partnership Development and Growth will lead the growth strategy and market leadership for healthcare and pharmaceutical partnerships within Loblaw Companies Limited. This role is central to expanding and deepening relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, payors, employers, consultants, and other healthcare stakeholders. The incumbent will also be accountable for the P&L of the business unit, driving innovative solutions that optimize drug plan spending, support chronic disease and wellness management, and improve overall health outcomes for employers and their employees.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic growth strategy for healthcare and pharmaceutical partnerships, leveraging the Shoppers Drug Mart network and broader Loblaw enterprise assets.
- Build, strengthen, and manage executive-level relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, payors, carriers, consultants, advisors, brokers, and direct employers.
- Monitor industry trends and market dynamics to shape strategy, drive innovation, and create relevant value-add solutions for clients and partners.
- Lead all aspects of the sales cycle for key offerings, from prospecting and business development through to deal structuring and closure, ensuring a robust pipeline of clients.
- Negotiate, structure, and actively manage large-scale partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and company values.
- Manage the P&L and capital budget of the business unit, delivering annual financial plans and key performance indicators, providing key inputs for financial analysis and pro-forma models.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex initiatives, measure performance, and ensure outcomes are aligned with client needs and growth objectives.
- Design and implement healthcare and partnership solutions that align with business operations and capabilities, ensuring timely and effective client and partner solutions.
- Provide outstanding leadership to the team, fostering a high-performing culture while supporting professional development, succession planning, and retention.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to bring forward thought leadership on emerging healthcare and pharma partnership opportunities.
- Enhance team effectiveness and efficiency by implementing best-in-class technology, processes, and partnership models.
Education & Job Knowledge
- Post-secondary education equivalent to a university degree in Pharmacy Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent.
- MBA is an asset.
- Deep pharmaceutical and specialty expertise in Canada, including drug handling processes, systems, and services, provincial reimbursement programs, and formulary processes.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape, including drug benefit management, chronic disease programs, and employer health strategies.
- Knowledge of retail pharmacy and healthcare delivery models is an asset.
- Proven success in a senior leadership role (VP level or higher) within the healthcare, pharmaceutical partnerships, insurance, or related industries.
- Demonstrated track record of driving significant business growth, forging strategic partnerships, and delivering financial results.
- Extensive experience with large-scale initiatives, developing and implementing innovative growth strategies, and navigating a dynamic healthcare market.
- Proven ability to lead through transformation to deliver on business goals, challenging the status quo where appropriate.
- Experience in managing a sales and marketing organization through direct sales to employers, channel partnerships, and strategic alliances.
- Strong track record in leading and motivating cross-functional teams, delivering multi-faceted, complex projects with tight timelines and on budget (experience managing teams of 10+ people).
- Outstanding initiative and judgment to lead the articulation and execution of a multidimensional growth strategy.
- Exceptional relationship and account management skills, with the ability to establish and maintain high-profile relationships and partnerships.
- Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills, with a proven track record in establishing major contracts and partnerships.
- Superior communication, presentation, interpersonal, and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the enterprise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with financial acumen, including P&L accountability, capital budgeting, business case development, and analytical insights.
- Ability to influence and work with executives and key decision-makers across business lines to lead and deliver cross-functional product offerings.
- Strong team leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire, coach, and mentor others.
- Self-motivated and resilient, with a positive demeanor and high energy.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and driving change.

- Ability to travel (approximately 15-20%).
