As Food & Beverage Supervisor at the newly opening Hyatt Place Toronto Airport, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest dining experience while ensuring smooth daily operations of our restaurant, bar, breakfast service, and banquets. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, and schedule team members to ensure efficient coverage across outlets.
- Motivate and guide associates through hands-on leadership, coaching, and ongoing feedback.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to review daily specials, service expectations, and upcoming events.
- Deliver genuine and anticipatory service by engaging with guests and responding promptly to requests and concerns.
- Handle guest feedback with professionalism, applying effective service recovery techniques to ensure satisfaction.
- Lead by example with a visible presence in outlets, greeting guests and supporting the team during peak hours.
- Oversee service in the restaurant, bar, breakfast area, and room service to maintain seamless operations.
- Ensure buffet and à la carte presentations meet Hyatt quality standards for freshness, taste, and visual appeal.
- Conduct daily outlet inspections to ensure cleanliness, readiness, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Monitor side work and station setup to guarantee readiness before, during, and after service hours.
- Foster a strong sense of teamwork across Food & Beverage and collaborate with other hotel departments to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Assist the Banquet Department with setup and service as needed.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding staffing, operational needs, and service challenges.
- Ensure compliance with Hyatt Place and Manga Hotels’ Health & Safety Program.
- Identify, report, and resolve safety hazards; enforce safe work practices among staff.
- Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly and ensure accurate reporting.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following “Clean as You Go” principles.
- Uphold Hyatt’s professional image through appearance, conduct, and adherence to brand standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support hotel operations.
- High school diploma (college or hospitality diploma preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to resolve guest concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
- Ability to:
- Stand or walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, and reach as required in a food service setting.
