Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all Matrox products follow broadcast & ProAV best practices for users and present a similar product design flow & usability, ensuring users can easily recognize and use Matrox products to efficiently accomplish their tasks;
  • Provide product feature designs based on definitions from Product management, including items listed below (as appropriate). These deliverables must be provided in a timely manner to enable development at the start of each sprint.
    • Mockups
    • Wireframes
    • UI designs
    • Prototypes
    • Product workflows
  • Author and maintain the Matrox Style Guide and ensure it is aligned with the Matrox marketing assets;
  • Author and maintain Matrox Copy Deck;
  • Ensure that the product designs remain intuitive and create user engagement and retention;
  • Work closely with Product management to ensure copy is inserted into the product designs for implementation by developers at the start of each sprint;
  • Be an advocate to Matrox users, understand their needs and contexts;
  • Ensure that designs follow Matrox’s methodology, including:
    • Product design best practices are followed;
    • Internal stakeholder product expectations are met
    • Participate in sprint estimating process to ensure that developers fully understand product features to be developed;
    • Guidance is provided to developers during development to ensure features meet acceptance criteria;
    • Schedules are met.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field;
  • 5+ year’s professional experience within Product oriented companies;
  • Portfolio demonstrating UX/UI design process and deliverables required;
  • Experience with broadcast & ProAV product design;
  • Experience with Figma interface design software;
  • Experience evolving in Agile/Scrum development cycle, building and delivering high quality software on time;
  • Experience working with UX/UI design teams;
  • Knowledge with A/B Web testing tools, such as Optimizly;
  • Knowledge with product instrumentation / analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Amplitude, Intercomm.io;
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design best practices;
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies and ability to collaborate effectively with developers;
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
