The Resistance Spot Welding Specialist will support our client's vehicle assembly process engineering organization. You will provide launch, sustainment, and innovation support to all assembly plants in the North America region.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that line integrators and resistance spot welding equipment suppliers deliver products that meet company specifications within the North America region.
- Participate in throughput analysis and processes.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Material Suppliers, Equipment Suppliers, and Equipment Integrators.
- Enable teams to meet vehicle timeline deliverables on schedule while maintaining quality requirements.
- Manage tracking documents to meet program timing requirements.
- Support problem resolution between Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Plant Manufacturing Operations.
- Ensure product conformance to design requirements.
- Provide onsite support during execution and launch phases of the program.
- Support integration, start-up, and debug of plant floor resistance spot welding equipment.
- Coordinate business process improvement and re-engineering projects.
- Report on system status at operating units as needed.
- Optimize resistance spot weld systems to improve productivity, cost, and quality.
- Partner with engineers, skilled trades, and managers to execute cross-functional projects, provide project cost/timing estimates, and support plant product launches.
- Implement standardized resistance spot weld and inspection systems.
- Develop and maintain common resistance spot weld technology standards.
- Provide technical direction to suppliers and internal plant teams.
- Conduct resistance spot weld equipment buyoffs.
- Minimum education: High School Diploma.
- At least 5 years of resistance spot welding experience.
- Strong understanding of resistance spot weld technologies and applications.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in resistance spot weld systems.
- Familiarity with adhesive and sealer procedures, weld documentation, and build shop support.
- Experience in tooling and equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of safe operating procedures within a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills, particularly for complex issues.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining composure and delivering effectively.
- 2+ years in the automotive industry, supporting launch activities in body shops and plants.
- Thorough understanding of automotive body shop processes.
- Ability to create and execute a well-organized validation project where standardized work is not available.
