PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Talent Acquisition Advisors are dynamic partners to our teams across Canada and the U.S., driving results through smart strategy and strong execution. As a self-starter, you’ll take ownership of sourcing top talent, guiding the hiring process with energy, accountability, and follow-through. From job postings to interviews and process improvements, you’ll bring expertise and a passion for making great hires happen.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work with hiring team to understand position requirements, team dynamics, timelines, and other details critical to successfully filling the position
  • Optimize job postings to ensure they are accurate to the responsibilities and use applicant tracking software (SuccessFactors) to post positions and progress candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Develop sourcing and recruitment strategies incorporating LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other recruitment tools to attract top performers and support diversity, equity, and inclusion, early talent, veteran, and women in operations initiatives
  • Screen candidates to validate candidates presented for consideration are viable and participate in interviews providing guidance on interview techniques and feedback on candidates
  • Guide hiring team through the offer process providing compensation recommendations, coordinate pre-employment and then progressing candidates through the onboarding process

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience, preferably in a job-related major field of study
  • Minimum three (3) years of recruiting experience
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence decision makers and provide world class hiring manager and candidate experience
  • Upbeat self-starter with ability to respond quickly to change

As an employee with a North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
