Our team…

The Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) team is a small group of diverse individuals. We are a close-knit team comprising EMC Engineering for all Bombardier aircraft platforms. We work on multiple technical disciplines protecting the aircraft from Lightning, Radio Frequency interference and Electrostatic Discharges. EMC is one of the few disciplines that collaborates with most other groups in the company, from Systems and Structures Engineering to Manufacturing and Quality, which exposes us to a wide variety of specialties.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Plan and support validation and development of tools for simulation and analysis of EMC data.
  • Prepare data from 3D models to use with analytical tools (simulation, computer algorithms, etc).
  • Analyze data and test results from on-going research projects.
  • Support problem solving & troubleshoot issues with aircraft being manufactured and in service.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing meetings and committees with the extended EMC team.
  • Prepare technical documentation and/or consolidation of engineering data.


During your internship, you will learn:

  • Understand Aircraft EMI/EMC threats.
  • Excel in multitasking and client-oriented environments.
  • Perform data analysis and deliver presentations.
  • Develop technical writing skills.
  • Learn about Aircraft Structure, Systems, and Engineering integration.


How to thrive in this role?

  • You are a student in Physics, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Knowledge of concepts in electromagnetic compatibility is an asset.
  • You have good oral and technical writing skills in English (French is an asset).
  • You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • You possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team and interface with other groups.
  • You can work independently & demonstrate initiative to achieve the goals established for you.
  • You possess good programming skills (knowledge of VBA is an asset).
  • Ability to program using MATLAB scripts is an asset.


Boarding Information:

  • Location: Bombardier Administrative Center, 400 Cote Vertu Ouest Blvd, Dorval, Quebec H4S 1Y9
  • Duration: 8 or 12 months
  • The position is a hybrid of remote from home and on-site work.


All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
