Job Description

The Warehouse Associate I is responsible for executing day-to-day warehousing activities to manage materials and equipment required for new vessel construction at Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards. This role performs shipping, receiving, inventory management, order picking and packing tasks related to materials and equipment required for new vessel construction. The Warehouse Associate reports to the Supervisor, Warehousing.

Note: This position is required to be fully on-site due to business needs. This position is temporary located at our Burnaby location. In February 2026, our Warehouse team will be moving to our new Langley facility.

What You'll Do

  • Actively participate in receiving, inventory control, order picking, packing and shipping operations. Perform transactions by utilizing IFS Applications MRP software application through manual entry and Automated Data Capture hardware (i.e. handheld scanners).
  • Prioritize assigned tasks and ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Assist other warehouse staff with larger, more critical transfers, orders, or receipts.
  • Adhere to established operational processes and procedures and provide input to making improvements.
  • Ensure appropriate filing of all warehouse paperwork, including packing slips, inventory count sheets, pick lists, shipping documents and transaction reports.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by performing physical counts and inputting count data.
  • Minimize warehouse equipment downtime by following operating instructions, performing scheduled preventive maintenance and reporting breakdowns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by observing all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Plan and adjust work based on a detailed understanding of requirements and priorities and seek clarification and direction, as appropriate.
  • Loading products, parts and merchandise into designated packages that meet product dimensions and packing requirements including crating and uncrating.


What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated warehousing operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Grade 12 High School Diploma.
  • Enrolment in professional development or training through an accredited institution such as the BCIT Materials Management certification or The Association for Operations Management (APICS) is desirable.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate (ground and air) preferred.
  • Forklift operator certificate on both sit down counterbalance and stand-up reach trucks an asset.

The estimated salary for this position is $55,800 - $68,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
