Hi, I'm Hillary, Risk Lead, at Loop and I am hiring a Collections Operations Associate to oversee Loop’s collections portfolio and support key risk operations.
This role is an onsite position at our downtown Toronto office (Adelaide and Spadina).

As a Collections Operations Associate, you’ll be on the front lines working with small business owners to resolve overdue loans, guide them through repayment options, and help keep their businesses on track.
This role is entirely focused on collections — managing past-due accounts, maintaining positive customer relationships, and ensuring repayment, all while handling challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner directly with Loop’s customers to resolve past-due loans through phone and email communication.
- Provide clear guidance and education to customers on repayment options and how to get back on track.
- Negotiate repayment plans and document commitments with professionalism and empathy.
- Apply tact, diplomacy, and resourcefulness to handle objections and unique situations effectively.
- Draft and send formal correspondence, including document requests and demand letters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer commitments, account activity, and follow-ups.
- Review customer files — including financial data, security agreements, and credit information — to assess likelihood of recovery and recommend next steps.
- Execute escalated actions when necessary, including line resizing, bankruptcy or legal filings, and coordination with outside counsel or agencies.
- Identify trends contributing to customer delinquency and recommend improvements to reduce defaults.
- Contribute to process improvements that make our collections operations more effective and scalable.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (collections, customer operations, financial services, or credit).
- Strong communicator — confident on the phone, professional and empathetic in writing.
- Able to balance firmness with tact when speaking to small business owners.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to review account information and assess recovery prospects.
- Highly organized with excellent time management and follow-through.
- Self-starter who can work independently, take ownership, and drive results.
- Adaptable and proactive, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluency in English; conversational French is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Google Suite tools, Excel, and CRM tools (Salesforce or similar).

- Salary range CAD$60,000-$70,000 annual, commensurate with experience
- Equity ranging 0.01-0.05%
- 3 weeks vacation

- 30 minutes in person meeting with Cato, CEO and Co-Founder and 15 minutes with Sarah, Chief of Staff
