Located out of our Calgary office, this role will report to the Manager, Transportation Financial Planning & Analysis. The successful candidate for this position will go beyond the numbers, supporting financial planning, performance management, and strategic decision-making across all our pipeline systems. You will quickly become a go-to contributor by bringing a strong understanding of forecasting and budgeting, financial modeling, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to create long-term value.

Description
Located out of our Calgary office, this role will report to the Manager, Transportation Financial Planning & Analysis. The successful candidate for this position will go beyond the numbers, supporting financial planning, performance management, and strategic decision-making across all our pipeline systems. You will quickly become a go-to contributor by bringing a strong understanding of forecasting and budgeting, financial modeling, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to create long-term value.
Key Activities And Responsibilities
- Own and maintain complex financial models for all pipeline systems, supporting the preparation and analysis of monthly forecasts, annual budgets and strategic initiatives
- Provide actionable insights through variance and trend analysis, identifying key risks and opportunities
- Support monthly and quarterly reporting commentary
- Collaborate with commercial and operational leadership teams to ensure that KPI’s support quality data management and are aligned to the forecasting approach
- Continue to align the business units’ ongoing forecasting practice with IPL’s Corporate Strategy & Planning expectations
- Key liaison for internal groups within Inter Pipeline, such as Accounting, Pipeline Field Operations, Oil Movements, and Treasury to ensure alignment
- Post-secondary education with a business, economics, finance, or accounting degree
- Preference for candidate with CPA, CFA or CBV designation
- Minimum of five years of related experience in the oil and gas industry, along with working knowledge of midstream infrastructure and operations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills along with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate business analyses
- Well-developed presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Pro-active self-starter with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Must be organized, highly adaptable and able to work well in a fast paced, growth environment
