Production Manager

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Production Manager to oversee day-to-day quarry operations, including ship loading, plant production, and mining activities. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations are consistently met while coordinating closely with engineering, maintenance, and HSE teams.
Location: Vancouver Island (relocation assistance provided)
Work: Monday to Friday on site, on call during weekends

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise production workforce and direct supervisors to meet operational and quality goals
- Work with Mining Engineer on mine planning and Maintenance on equipment/plant repairs
- Monitor lab results, stockpiles, and crusher/screen operations to meet standards (CalTrans/ASTM)
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and adhere to departmental budgets and KPIs
- Lead weekly meetings with supervisors and staff, manage personnel performance issues
- Maintain accurate records for equipment, training, payroll, and environmental compliance
- Approve invoices and monitor contractor usage and stripping budgets
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process intelligence programs
Qualifications:
- 5+ years supervisory or managerial experience in mining, quarrying, or comparable operations
- Ability to train and develop personnel in safe and productive work practices
- Proficient with computer software for production tracking, payroll, and reporting
- Must obtain a BC Shift Boss Certificate within 6 months of hire
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders/stairs, and navigate uneven terrain
- Willingness to travel as required
