Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of Leadhand Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for a variety of troubleshooting and repair duties within a service shop environment as well as providing leadership and instruction to others in their service and repair of a Caterpillar equipment.

Job Description:

• Provide technical expertise on shop floor
• Perform regular mechanical duties assigned by Supervisor
• Maintain job status sheet and update the planner on job progress
• Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed
• Schedule and delegate duties
• Distribute work orders
• Provide leadership with reference to on-site safety requirements
  
  

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
• Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses
• High level of technical experience, dedication to safety, and the willingness and ability to instruct others
• Team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Previous CAT general line experience and computer proficiency would be considered assets
  
  

Note:

• This position will work a 14x14 continuous shift rotation, based at the Mildred Lake Shop D06 facility.
• Hours and shift schedules that may be subject to change will be made in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
