Join Our Team as a Drywall Estimator!

Maxan is looking for a detail-oriented and highly driven Estimator to support our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing project details, collaborating with clients and contractors, and ensuring every bid is accurate, competitive, and aligned with Maxan’s commitment to excellence.

Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you’ll work closely with the Estimating team to prepare estimates, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and help us secure projects that drive growth across Maxan.

What You’ll Do:

• Gather and analyze data to prepare accurate and complete cost estimates for construction projects
• Review project plans and specifications to understand scope of work and identify challenges or opportunities
• Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure all necessary information is included in estimates
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate them for completeness and competitiveness
• Prepare final bid documents, including cost breakdowns, subcontractor and supplier summaries, and supporting documentation
• Identify and evaluate potential risks and cost-saving opportunities
• Maintain and update standard cost data to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Establish and maintain working relationships with clients, general contractors, and suppliers
• Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts and change orders as needed

What You Bring:

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
• Previous estimating experience in construction is an asset
• Knowledge of drywall systems is a strong asset
• Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
• High attention to detail and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Solid foundation in basic math skills
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
