Requirement Summary
We are seeking a Senior Operational Technology (OT) Security Engineer for an initial 1 year contract opportunity (Hybrid role with occasional mandatory on-site travel to Vancouver (BC) and/or Montreal (QC) required).
You will support global logistics partners to safeguard and maintain the Cybersecurity posture of their organizations operational technology environments across distribution centers, automated warehouses, and fleet operations. This role bridges IT security and industrial control systems (ICS), ensuring protection of warehouse automation.
Responsibilities:
- Support OT Cybersecurity Design & Implementation
- Deploy and maintain OT security controls in warehouse and logistics environments (segmentation, firewalls, secure remote access, VPNs, data diodes).
- Support integration of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), and IoT devices into secure networks.
- Maintain OT asset inventory (controllers, HMIs, PLCs, robotics, IoT sensors).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation without disrupting uptime.
- Develop detection rules for OT protocols (Modbus, Profinet, BACnet, etc.).
- Participate in OT incident response: malware containment, PLC forensics, vendor coordination.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian critical infrastructure guidance (NIST CSF, ISA/IEC 62443, ISO 27001).
- Support risk assessments and audits across distribution centers and transportation hubs.
- Work with automation engineers, IT security teams, and vendors to design secure integrations.
- Complete knowledge transfer in support of operators, maintenance staff, and others on OT cybersecurity best practices.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 5+ years in Cybersecurity, with at least 2+ years in OT/ICS environments (warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, utilities).
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, network segmentation, SIEM tools in OT networks.
- Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, robotics, and industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of OT Cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443, NIST 800-82).
Nice-to-have:
- Certifications such as GICSP, GRID, CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, ISA/IEC 62443 certs.
- Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
