Reporting to the Manager, Downtown Economy, you will be instrumental in implementing the Downtown Action Plan (DAP), specifically focusing on the economic and business growth goals outlined in the plan. This is a key role where you'll support investment and growth by leading strategic initiatives in business support, program administration, policy development, and research. You will work with a diverse range of collaborators, including businesses, investors, business associations, and property owners, to identify and implement creative solutions to complex issues. Salary Range: $52.578 - $67.097 (Hourly); $92,629.29 - $118,208.14 (Annually)

What will you do?
- Lead and contribute to the implementation of the Downtown Action Plan in collaboration with community partners
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with domestic and international investors, corporate decision-makers, and industry leaders
- Serve as a primary point of contact for investors, providing dedicated attention and addressing any concerns or challenges
- Support the development and implementation of business focused, friendly initiatives and policies that support investment in Edmonton’s downtown
- Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for City Council and Committees related to the Downtown Action Plan
- Undertake research on best practices and policies from other jurisdictions to inform internal decision-making
- Ensure a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) lens is applied to all section strategies, policies, and research activities
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in, Economics, Business Studies, Project Management or a related field
- Four (4) years' experience in the area of economic development that includes project management, relationship building, partnership management
- Project Management certification
- Political acumen and an understanding of the downtown economy, strategies, and plans
- The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once
- Experience with data analysis and research
- Active listening skills to effectively engage with a variety of people and understand their perspectives
- Knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial, and federal economic and environmental policies and strategies that impact investment attraction
- Integrate with City of Edmonton departments and identify opportunities and strategies
- Provide exceptional customer service to community partners and other interested parties
- Develop and deliver presentations and briefings to interested parties
- Excellent communication and project management skills, including the ability to develop comprehensive reports, presentations, and project documentation for diverse audiences, from internal teams to City Council

- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
