The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting information security programs of various sensitivity, according to unique client requirements. They will be practiced in developing, updating, maintaining & regularly reviewing IT security policies, standards and procedures. Through this, ensuring alignment with regulatory, legal, contractual requirements and industry best practices.

As a AS/400 System Admin, You Will

  • Administer, maintain, and support IBM i (iSeries/AS400) environments, including OS upgrades, patch management, and system backups (servers, multiple partitions)
  • Be responsible for message handling, command line utilities, work management, job and print control, device management, system configuration, system security, backup and restore, backup and restore disaster recovery, file transfer integration, OS and application PTF management, job monitoring and recovery, hardware maintenance and optimization, installations and upgrades.
  • Be managing and maintaining Development, QA, Production, and Failover systems and servers.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues related to system resources (CPU, memory, storage).
  • Be monitoring the High Availability software, role swaps, and disaster recovery for our AS/400 systems.
  • Be managing roles and rights to use systems and servers.
  • Be maximizing up-time, performance and availability of the AS/400 systems.
  • Be responsible for the protection of data, including safeguarding PII. 
  • Be providing first-level support to end-users to resolve system issues.
  • Be defining strategy for cluster failover and disaster recovery.
  • Assist with modernization and SDLC efforts.

This Is The Right For If You

  • Have a university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Have 6+ years of full-time industry experience as an AS/400 System Admin, in a software development environment.
  • Put customers first. Serving our end-users, in a secure, performant, sustainable and fiscally responsible way, is the only thing that matters.
  • Are proficient with the administration and maintenance of our core environment: IBM Power System i, IBM Rational Developer, iCluster, PTC Implementer.
  • Experience with IBM Navigator for i, ACS (Access Client Solutions), and performance tools.
  • Have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Have working knowledge in: Fortra Automate, BroadCom CA 2E, Fortra Robot Alert / Console / Schedule, Enforcive Enterprise Security Suite.
