The Opportunity
As a key member of the Wajax team, the Shop Foreman addresses customer inquiries and requests for repairs, and resolves any issues as required. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that employees are performing their duties and completing tasks to standard, and in accordance with Safe Work Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Shop/Service Management
- Handle customer inquiries related to service and technical issues.
- Determine the priority and specifications of jobs, and assign according to employee capabilities.
- Ensure that paperwork is maintained up-to-date and is completed and turned in, in a timely fashion.
- Responsible to ensure that employees have the materials and parts they need to perform their duties.
- Provide guidance whether to re-use or order parts.
- Assess and ensure that employees are using their time efficiently.
- Oversees Health & Safety in shop to ensure that all policies and practices are applied correctly.
- Responsible for the supervision of a team of employees; this includes coaching, scheduling, attendance, conflict resolution, training.
- Assist employees in the completion of their duties, as required.
- Report the progress on all jobs to the Service Manager.
- Look up parts (online or manually) to find parts numbers of suppliers and submit parts requests to the Service Coordinator.
- Participate in tool box meetings.
- Complete labor estimates.
- Perform various additional duties, as required.
- Experience: 3-4 years of relevant leadership experience.
- Education: Trade certification or Journeyman Red Seal.
- Experience: 5+ years "hands-on" experience troubleshooting/repairing/rebuilding On-Hwy diesel engines & Allison Automatic Transmissions would be an asset.
- Experience:3+ years’ experience repairing Heavy Construction Equipment such as loaders & excavators would be a definite asset.
- ** Preference may be given to those candidates that posses both On-Highway & Heavy Construction Equipment experience.
