Job Title: Director of Fun (MASCOT PERFORMER) The FireWolves, based out of Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario, are a proud member of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Join the FireWolves and help forge a bold new legacy in Oshawa The FireWolves are seeking a motivated individual to fill as the team mascot, Alphie, and assist in the coordination and execution of community events as part of the FireWolves organization. As the mascot, you will be responsible for bringing Alphie to life through upbeat, outgoing, and positive interactions. The ability to interact with all types of people is a vital component to the FireWolves’ success during community events, in-game entertainment, and external activities. Additionally, this individual should also seek to coordinate community events as a way of promoting the FireWolves brand throughout the Durham Region Job Responsibilities
  • Interact with and entertain fans while sustaining the character of Alphie during FireWolves home games and/or community appearances
  • Assist with managing, scheduling, and maintaining records of all FireWolves mascot appearances at public, private, community, and team events.
  • Execute high-energy dance routines, interactive skits, and fan interactions as it relates to crowd engagement, in-game entertainment, and community appearances
  • Develop and uphold the character of Alphie and engage with fans consistently as said character
  • Create a fun and energetic atmosphere during all Alphie appearances
  • Perform as Alphie at various community appearances throughout the year
  • Clean, maintain, and preserve the Alphie costume, outfits, and props after every use and report any costume-related issues to the Director of Game Presentation
  • Responsible for purchase requisitions for mascot props, equipment, theme nights, costumes etc.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with local organizations and nonprofits to foster community involvement and collaboration
  • Organize and oversee outreach programs, volunteer initiatives, and promotional events that enhance community engagement and brand presence
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be accessible year-round for all FireWolves home games and scheduled community appearances
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including working game nights, weekends, holidays, and special event nights as needed
  • Physical stamina to perform in the Alphie costume for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform basic dance and gymnastics techniques
  • Outstanding level of creativity, energy, spontaneity, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Comfortable in front of large crowds
  • Previous mascot experience required
  • Basic knowledge of lacrosse preferred
Requirements
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Must be able to work in Canada
  • Must be a high school graduate (or equivalent)
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds at a time
  • Knowledge about Live Event Production preferred
