Job Description

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the financial insights that drive our business forward. You’ll support our accounting infrastructure and investment reporting processes, monitor and analyze portfolio performance and cash flows, and deliver insights that help Senior Management make informed decisions. You’ll also step into an advisory role on projects, recommending process enhancements and leveraging your accounting, reporting, and analytical skills to make a meaningful impact on our Investment Team.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the team, providing coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to help colleagues grow their technical and analytical skills.
  • Act as the first point of contact for problem-solving, supporting team members with questions, reviewing their work, and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
  • Work closely with the Manager to drive process improvements, contributing to project management of new initiatives, automation, and ad hoc projects that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Partner with leadership on controls and reporting, ensuring compliance, strengthening governance, and delivering timely, high-quality financial insights that support decision-making.
  • Support monthly and quarterly investment reporting, including consolidated and non-consolidated financial information for our Canadian team
  • Interact with external partners (e.g., investment managers) to validate and reconcile investment information.
  • Maintain the investment portfolio, process trades, and manage daily cash flows, transfers, and projections.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with internal controls before submission.
  • Ensure strong investment controls, resolve data discrepancies, and adhere to relevant regulatory bodies

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Accounting or Analyst role, with a strong foundation in financial reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to take ownership and accountability for deliverables, with sound judgment in reviewing and validating the work of others.
  • Strong mentorship and leadership skills, with the ability to guide team members, provide constructive feedback, and foster professional growth.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience creating clear, insightful reports that support both management and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
  • A proactive, growth-oriented mindset, eager to lead by example and contribute to both team success and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Accounting and Finance concepts; direct experience in investment accounting is an asset but not required — we’re excited to train the right candidate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to explain complex information clearly and collaborate across teams.
  • Comfort working with data from multiple sources to reconcile, analyze, and prepare investment portfolio reporting, including performance against benchmarks and regulatory requirements.
