The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting information security programs of various sensitivity, according to unique client requirements. They will be practiced in developing, updating, maintaining & regularly reviewing IT security policies, standards and procedures. Through this, ensuring alignment with regulatory, legal, contractual requirements and industry best practices.

You As An Senior Software Engineer For AS/400 Will

  • Be accountable for deliverables and effectiveness of processes for Development in the FMS team.
  • Design, develop, test, analyze, maintain and enhance our in-house Financial Management System (FMS) to meet the functional needs of the business.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the system and determining root cause analysis of problems identified by end users and internal teams.
  • Work with business / teams to translate business strategies/requirements and identify appropriate solutions to deliver objectives across multiple platform(s), adhering to the architectural direction, effort and cost.
  • Be responsible for integration of our in-house Project Management System, Gate Three as well as other external systems with our FMS system through SOAP and Rest API’s.
  • Be mentoring other team members as needed.
  • Maintain documentation for users, clients, and team members.
  • Develop departmental capability to use technology and develop expertise to meet future business requirements.
  • Assist operations team with issues regarding the IBM I hardware and operating system.
  • Assist support problem solving/quality assurance team in trouble shooting various issues.
  • Knowledge of modernization strategies and SDLC efforts.

This is the right role for you, if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years proven work experience in software development.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, databases, and object-relational mapping.
  • Experience using IBM i, RPGLE, CLLE, SQL, XML and Json
  • Experience using IBM Rational Developer for IBM i.
  • Experience building integrations with SOAP and Rest APIs.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, databases, and object-relational mapping (ORM) framework.

Nice-to-haves

  • Have working knowledge in:
    • Experience using Java, Python, JavaScript.
    • Experience using CA 2E (formerly Synon 2E).
    • Knowledge of Information Builders iWay Enterprise Service Bus.
NOTE: this is a Hybrid role, for our London, Ontario or Mississauga, Ontario EllisDon office.
