We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Mobile PMO (Program Management Office) Director to establish and manage the PMO for our Mobile Product Development initiatives. Based in Richmond, Vancouver, and reporting directly to the General Manager of the Mobile Business Unit, this role will play a critical part in enabling execution excellence and cross-functional alignment across multiple Mobile product development efforts.

This position is ideal for a senior program-level coordinator who thrives in dynamic environments and can bridge the gap between planning and delivery. You will be responsible for developing the PMO structure, managing Program level schedules, tracking interdependencies, and ensuring milestone achievement across the mobile portfolio. Additionally, you’ll drive rigour and project management excellence across Project Managers and lead executive program reporting and represent overall program health, risks, and investment needs to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

PMO Setup & Leadership

⏵ Build and operationalize the Mobile PMO framework, including tools, templates, and governance models.

⏵ Establish consistent practices for project planning, tracking, and reporting across mobile development.

⏵ Lead the adoption of PMO standards by cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations.

Program Coordination

⏵ Develop and maintain integrated schedules for product development and testing phases.

⏵ Identify and manage interdependencies, sequencing, and resource allocation across concurrent projects.

⏵ Coordinate with teams to align plans, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure delivery against critical milestones.

Monitoring & Reporting

⏵ Track progress against program plans and performance KPIs, surfacing risks and variances early.

⏵ Drive creation of high-quality, executive-level reporting and visual dashboards for program status.

⏵ Consolidate and communicate cross-functional updates in a clear and concise manner.

Risk & Issue Management

⏵ Act as a central point for risk escalation, mitigation planning, and resolution of critical issues.

⏵ Monitor ongoing program health, proactively identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.

⏵ Maintain structured documentation and communication of risk/issue logs and action plans.

Executive Communication & Representation

⏵ Represent the overall mobile program status, challenges, and roadmap alignment to executive leadership.

⏵ Provide strategic insights and recommendations for prioritization, trade-offs, and resource investment.

⏵ Champion transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the program.

Qualifications

Required

⏵ 7+ years of experience in program or project management, including 3+ years at a program or PMO level.

⏵ Proven success in building or running a PMO, ideally within a mobile technology or consumer electronics environment.

⏵ Deep understanding of mobile product development life cycles, including software, hardware, and QA processes.

⏵ Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, MS Project).

⏵ Excellent stakeholder communication, presentation, and coordination skills.

⏵ Strong ability to lead without authority and influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred

⏵ PMP, PgMP, or similar certification.

⏵ Experience in Agile, hybrid, or scaled Agile environments.

⏵ Familiarity with mobile carrier certification, product launch requirements, or international development cycles.

⏵ PMO framework is implemented and actively used across all mobile projects.

⏵ Executive leadership receives timely, relevant, and actionable program insights.

⏵ Risks, issues, and dependencies are well-managed and communicated.

⏵ Projects consistently hit key milestones, improving delivery predictability.
