Are you a seasoned Site Superintendent or Project Manager who knows the field inside out and now wants to apply that knowledge to estimating? At Live To Build, we're looking for a Part-Time Estimator who can bring hands-on understanding of construction to the pre-construction process. This role is ideal for someone transitioning from site to office, eager to influence project success from the start.

We also complete select commercial and industrial projects. - Prepare accurate estimates and trade scopes for residential and commercial projects.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify scope gaps early and issue change orders proactively.
- Translate hands-on site knowledge into practical, buildable estimates.
- Review drawings, specs, and design changes with an eye for constructability.
- Work flexibly, primarily pre-construction, with opportunities to stay connected through project delivery for accountability.
- Use BuildWise, Planswift, Fieldwire, Bluebeam (training provided), and Microsoft Office for costing, tracking, and reporting.
- 5 or more years in construction as a Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or related field.
- Strong takeoff and estimating skills, ideally with renovation/century-home experience.
- Ability to read/interpret drawings and catch constructability issues before they reach the site.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Planswift, Fieldwire, and Bluebeam, adaptable to new software (BuildWise).
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and ability to attend sites when needed.
- Strong communication skills, with a client-oriented mindset.
- Part-time engagement: 10 to 20 hours per week, primarily weekdays; flexible scheduling within business hours
- Hourly rate: $35 to $45 per hour (based on experience)
- This role is offered as a part-time employee position. Independent contractor arrangements may be considered if mutually agreed.
- Vacation pay and statutory holiday pay provided (pro-rated; meets or exceeds Ontario ESA)
