Binnie is looking for an Engineering Assistants to join our Development & Infrastructure Group both in our Langley and Burnaby offices, which provides professional civil engineering services for local municipalities and private developers alike. Typical projects include road and utility improvements and replacements, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control and major residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
The position will be for the Jan to April 2026 work term. There may be an opportunity to extend the work term depending on project requirements.
You will be working with our experienced Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, on interesting drafting, design, and field assignments. You will be a member of our diverse team in a challenging role that offers great mentorship opportunities.

Your Role
- Modifying basic design drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Plotting, assembling, and delivering drawing submission packages
- Preparing project documentation including hard copy and electronic file transfers
- Maintaining file naming and layer management conventions set by Binnie
- Completing field assignments as required by Project Managers
- Completing quality control procedures
- Preparing and updated as-constructed field record drawings
- Previous work experience in a civil engineering environment
- Previous exposure to AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Currently completing Degree in Civil Engineering
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle for site visits
- Willing to work outdoors on-site as required
- Ability to consistently produce accurate, high quality work
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
