Millwright Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Routine scheduled maintenance in accordance with the preventive maintenance program
• Carry out assigned work orders and report daily activities
• Installation and modification work – mechanical, electrical or refrigeration
• Maintenance electrician functions
• Carry out repairs on equipment and buildings not associated with production lines (i.e. cold store equipment, yard lighting, forklifts, trucks, office fittings and facilities, building fabric, etc.
• Follow proper inventory procedures
• Adhere to safety and quality standards
• Keep clean any areas in which work is performed including the workshop and any transit areas to and from the workshop
• The successful applicant will enroll in a Millwright Certification program and complete hours necessary for certification on the job. Additionally, adjustments will be made to work schedules to accommodate the academic and practical requirements of the program.
• Maintain and adhere to the required hygiene, safety and quality standards on the production floor
• Other duties as assigned
• Following a 12 hour day shift continental schedule

• A high school diploma
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Advanced problem-solving abilities
• Computer literacy
• Team player
• Self-motivated and able to take initiative
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to work independently
