Position Information

The Ottawa Hospital is actively recruiting for our RN Resource Team. If you're interested in working in a diverse environment with the opportunity to explore various clinical specialties, the Resource Team is for you.

As part of the Nursing Resource Team, Registered Nurses will receive orientation and training to support a variety of units including, Acute Medicine, Surgery, Post-Acute and various specialty areas like the Emergency Department and Mental health. You will be supported every step pf the way! A specific work location is not definable for these positions, as they will be asked to work throughout the Hospital. Assignments/locations will be determined by the hospital based on needs.

Rotation/Shifts

Days and nights, including weekends, 12 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring

  • Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Current BCLS;
  • Recent adult Medical/Surgical experience;
  • Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of the nursing process as it relates to the general medicine/surgery patient and the ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting;
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess the patient's learning needs and ability to plan appropriate teaching;
  • Demonstrates the ability to participate as an active member of the health care team;
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health discipline;
  • Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities;
  • Demonstrates an understanding and a willingness to participate in self-evaluation;
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the nursing audit;
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.


You will stand out with:

  • BScN;
  • General medicine knowledge;
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention course;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
