Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist
Beacon HR

About us:
Beacon HR partners with fast-growing companies to help solve their people problems through unique approaches to recruitment and retention. We are passionate talent acquisition strategists who believe the contingency staffing model is antiquated - we don’t have volume-based metrics and we don’t do cold calls. We choose to work with growth-minded companies who care deeply about their people.
About the role:
Your mission is to deliver an over-the-moon hiring experience for our clients by embedding yourself as a fractional recruitment expert. With the support of Team Beacon when needed, you’ll own recruitment end-to-end: from strategy and sourcing to interviews, hiring manager coaching, and onboarding support. You’ll work on both technical and non-technical roles for well-funded companies who are doing things differently and scaling fast.
Our clients are industry-agnostic, from SaaS and tech startups, to retail, manufacturing, and professional services. You’ll need to be comfortable flexing across sectors and quickly learning new business models.
This is a contract opportunity based in Vancouver - you’ll have the flexibility of consulting while being part of Beacon’s bright team.
About you:
You love both strategy and execution, and you take accountability for delivering exceptional results. You’re equally comfortable building sourcing strategies, talking with candidates, and advising executives.
Our ideal candidate has worked both in-house and in agency/consulting. If you loved the stability of in-house but craved more variety, or if you thrived in agency but disliked the transactional feel - this role could be the perfect fit.
A typical week in the life:
- Integrate into our client’s teams to understand their recruitment needs, at a deep level.
- Partner with your dedicated sourcer to target talent through industry-leading sourcing strategies and develop talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
- Conduct phone or video interviews with applicants and sourced candidates.
- Craft and send thoughtful recruitment emails and other highly customized reach-outs.
- Coach hiring managers on interview best practices and candidate experience.
- Build and maintain candidate databases via Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Work collaboratively to create job ads using Beacon’s specialized approach.
What you’ll bring:
- 7+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally including senior or hard-to-fill roles.
- Solid communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective time-management abilities. You are hyper-organized and are used to having many tabs open on your screen at any given time.
- A high sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated track record as an effective relationship builder; you can build rapport easily.
- Passionate for attracting top talent and helping companies accelerate their growth plans.
Bonus if you have:
- Technical recruitment experience and a strong understanding of roles in tech or SaaS.
- Experience supporting hyper-growth or scaling companies.
What’s in it for you:
At Beacon HR, we enjoy the stability of an in-house role with the flexibility, fast pace, and fun of agency life. We have a super flexible, results-oriented work environment and we love crushing our goals both individually and as a team.
This is a contract role based in Vancouver. While most of the work is remote, we’re looking for someone in the Vancouver area who can join in-person collaboration days and client meetings on occasion.
Sound like you? We’d love to connect for an exploratory chat. We can’t wait to meet you!
Beacon HR welcomes all applicants regardless of race, gender, orientation, sexual identity, economic class, ability, disability, age, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, or status. We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish and we welcome you!
Compensation: $55–$65 per hour, depending on experience.
