Role Overview

• Position: Chemistry Professional – Independent Contractor, Remote
• Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week), Duration: 1–2 months
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems in chemistry. Collaborate with a top AI research lab to replicate real-world workflows across various chemistry subdomains.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Create and assess complex problems in chemistry across subdomains such as organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, chemical reasoning, and domain relevance.
• Provide clear written feedback on chemistry problem sets, mechanisms, and solutions.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and engineers to iterate and improve model performance.
• Ensure academic rigor and scientific precision in all chemistry content used to train or evaluate AI systems.
  
  

Requirements / Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or a directly related field from a top university
• Undergraduate degree from an institution in the US, UK, or Canada
• Deep subject-matter expertise across core areas of chemistry
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching, research, or publication experience is a plus
  
  

Engagement Details

• Start Date: Immediate
• Duration: 1–2 months
• Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week)
• Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous – flexible working hours
• Compensation: $65–$85 USD/hr, competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Contract Type: Independent contractor
