POSITION: Analyst, Strategic and Retail Distribution

Northleaf Capital Partners is offering the opportunity to join a leading and growing private markets manager. The Strategic Marketing & Distribution team is focused on expanding the distribution of Northleaf’s private market products in the rapidly growing wealth/retail market and with strategic partners within the Power Financial Corp. ecosystem. The successful candidate will report to the Vice-President, Strategic Distribution, and work across Private Equity, Private Credit and Infrastructure strategies and work closely with members of the following teams: Investor Relations, Operations, Portfolio Strategy & Analytics, Marketing and Communications, Business Development, Product Development, Legal and Tax.

Specifically, this role will support the execution of distribution strategies, lead day-to-day distribution initiatives, manage internal stakeholder relationships and serve as a key contact for strategic partner investors and retail channel partners. The successful candidate will thrive in a self-driven, high-performance, collaborative team environment and gain direct insight into the workings of a global private markets investment firm.

Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for assisting senior members of Northleaf’s Strategic Distribution team across a range of activities including:

  • Investor servicing: responding to Northleaf’s investors’ and partners’ information needs, requirements, inquiries and supporting investor onboarding
  • Investor communications: developing content for outside communication activities such as in-person presentations, portfolio updates, investor conferences, articles and market insights,
  • Marketing collateral: developing and maintaining content for distribution activities such as marketing materials, pitchbooks, fact sheets, due diligence questionnaires, investment case studies, and on-line data rooms
  • Data management: coordinate with investment team and portfolio management professionals to track key portfolio metrics, industry metrics, investor reporting and performance attribution metrics to be used in investor facing materials; manage and analyze investor data to generate insights and support strategic distribution
  • Product development: assisting with the development of new product initiatives and extensions across the private markets including research and development
  • Market trends/research: market research to support investor facing materials and competitor mapping for fund/product formation and launch

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience at a professional services firm (investment management, investment banking, business development, consulting, etc.)
  • Excellent academic credentials, preferably a university degree in finance, business, law, engineering, actuarial studies, economics or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively (with fluency in Word, PowerPoint,Excel and CRM platforms)
  • Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with a high degree of intellectual curiosity; demonstrated ability to be proactive
  • Strong work ethic with a high level of professional integrity and ability to engender trust
  • Understanding of global financial markets, the institutional investment industry, portfolio construction theory and asset allocation principles, coupled with a demonstrated interest in private markets investments and investor engagement
  • Flexible team player with a history of collaborating with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, especially investors
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong addition to Northleaf’s values of respect, integrity, collaboration, and professionalism
