Provides and facilitates program opportunities that are conducive to the individual’s life skill development, community inclusion and independence. Supports the individual’s vocational goals and promotes skill growth toward gainful employment if so desired by the individual.

Schedule:

Wednesday-Saturday – 9:00 AM-2:00 PM

20 hrs/week

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To work in a team and/or individual environment with the needs of the individuals supported by NEXUS as the primary focus.
  • To develop and facilitate opportunities based on the needs and goals set by the individual and their support network.
  • To facilitate community inclusion in a variety of settings in our community and surrounding area.
  • To complete documentation on a regular basis that outlines individual’s success, needs and or further support that may be required.
  • Maintaining documentation/records pertaining to expenditures made for programming needs.
  • To participate in meetings, training opportunities and service planning as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

Requirement(s):

  • Must be 19 years of age or older;
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 (or better) driver’s license – abstract required;
  • Must own vehicle and be comfortable using it for work purposes (mileage reimbursed);
  • Must be comfortable working in a home with dogs;
  • Related experience working with adults with diverse abilities is considered an asset;
  • First Aid (Level 1);
  • Basic computer skills and physical ability to carry out the duties of the job;
  • Criminal Record Check (will be performed by NEXUS upon hire).
