Skilled Labourer

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Skilled Labourer to join our residential construction team. The successful candidate will assist in the construction, renovation, and remodelling of residential homes and units. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks and requires knowledge of construction tools, materials, and techniques, as well as a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with framing, drywall, flooring, roofing, and finishing work
• Load and unload materials and distribute them to the appropriate locations on-site
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, nail guns)
• Measure, cut, and assemble materials to specified dimensions
• Assist in the installation of doors, windows, cabinets, fixtures, etc.
• Maintain site presentation to Loftin Standards at all times.
• Perform site cleanup and waste disposal tasks regularly
• Follow directions from the site supervisor or tradespeople on-site
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with building codes and safety regulations
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Work in all weather conditions and adapt to changing priorities
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in residential construction or similar role
• Solid understanding of construction methods and materials
• Proficient in using construction tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work plans (preferred)
• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Working at Heights, or First Aid (preferred)
• Willingness to learn and take direction

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
