The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate subtrades, suppliers, and site personnel while maintaining effective communication with project managers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and company standards.
- Plan and schedule daily activities for subtrades, suppliers, and site crews to maintain project milestones.
- Enforce compliance with health and safety policies and site-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure mandatory PPE is always worn.
- Monitor workmanship to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular inspections, track deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Verify as-built records and documentation are maintained accurately.
- Maintain clear communication with the project team on progress, issues, and changes.
- Lead and document weekly site meetings with subtrades.
- Prepare and submit daily site reports, safety logs, and progress updates.
- Manage site logistics, including deliveries, material handling, and site cleanliness.
- Ensure equipment and materials are used efficiently and safeguarded.
- Assist in resolving site conflicts or unforeseen conditions promptly.
- Minimum 5-7 years of construction site supervision experience (commercial interiors preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and health & safety regulations.
- Proven leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and subtrades.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- First Aid & CPR training required (or ability to obtain).
- Working at Heights certification required (or ability to obtain).
- JHSC certification considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (Autodesk or similar considered an asset).
