Position Overview:
Finning Canada is looking for passionate and field experienced Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians (Red Seal preferred) to join our team based out of our Kamloops branch on a 7x7 Shift. Our Heavy Equipment Technicians are responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, equipment throughout the region; specifically in a field environment. This role will focus primarily on Mining Operations and offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar equipment.

Major Job Functions
- Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment (possibility of remote locations)
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
- Various related duties as required
Specific Skills & Experience
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
- Previous experience with Caterpillar 793 haul truck, D10, 24 motor grader, 994/995 and other related mining equipment is an asset
- Solid organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work independently, without supervision often in remote locations
- Committed to providing exceptional customer service
- Dedication to safety
- Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems are considered assets
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
- Must have the ability to be fit tested and wear a respirator
- This is a position based out of our Kamloops branch
- 7 x 7 Wednesday – Tuesday Continuous Shift
- Condition of employment may be the ability to wear a respirator and obtain Site Access (D&A, Physical)
- Possible Dual Rider position
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
