Wyse Meter Solutions Inc. provides turnkey submetering and utility expense management services to property managers, building owners and developers across Canada. Wyse is unique in its ability to provide energy consumption transparency and accountability to its customers.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Revenue Optimization, the Business Development Account Executive will be responsible for independently generating and qualifying leads for submetering services to developers, property owners, property management companies and condo corporations in the multi-residential and commercial markets. You will work closely with Wyse's outside sales team to engage in and close qualified opportunities. You will receive hands-on training with an emphasis on consultative selling and a focus on researching targeted accounts. In this role, you will gain in-depth experience in a rapidly growing sustainability company.

Key Responsibilities

  • As the Business Development Account Executive, you will partner closely with Major Account Executives to support, research and prospect opportunities to secure a sufficient flow of qualified opportunities that will influence the sales pipeline. You are accountable for achieving daily activity metrics along with monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • Proactively solicit and qualify leads to sales opportunities as prospective customers.
  • Present the complete Wyse proposal matrix to prospective customers.
  • Build a database of client information including but not limited to opportunity size, incumbent provider, key decision makers and a strategy to engage the client.
  • Actively participate in sales calls with Major Account Executives to learn how to engage externally with clients.
  • Become proficient in all Wyse systems and software solutions.
  • Pursue opportunities in partnership with Wyse Major Account Executives from the introduction phase through to the close, including proposal presentation, contract negotiation and customer contract
  • On a regular daily and weekly basis, update the Wyse CRM tool on the activities, tasks, closes, and losses related to each lead, account, contact and opportunity.
  • Remain up-to-date and report on weekly on industry trends, competitive trends, marketing material effectiveness, and other information pertinent to Wyse's sales efforts to Wyse management;
  • Attend and participate as assigned in industry events, trade shows, conferences, seminars, including maintaining log of lead reports after each event.
  • Contribute to sales administration through submetering site pre-audits, feasibility studies, special requests, attending sales resident seminars, providing technical and installation information and support.
  • Coordinate with marketing team in trade-show operations, ensuring Wyse Meter Solutions products and services are displayed to enhance the organization's reputation.

  • Handle client requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to the role of Account Executive.

Required Education and Qualifications

  • 1 – 2 years of inside sales experience
  • Business Administration Certificate or equivalent experience
  • Experience using online tools to research and qualify opportunities and prospects
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license
  • Demonstrated history of achieving metrics and KPIs in past positions
  • Effective time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Motivation, drive and self-starting attitude
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
