About The Role

As a Claims Manager, Support, Legal Claims , working here means being valued for who you are and growing, both professionally and personally. Alongside Canada’s largest in-house P&C insurance litigation team, you’ll get the tools, support, flexibility, and opportunities to succeed and be your best self.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Legal Claims Support West management team, responsible for leading and managing a team of Unit Managers. This involves providing strategic direction, mentoring, and support to ensure that each unit operates efficiently and effectively. You will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire your team of Unit Managers to achieve operational excellence and drive the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Serve as first-level support for issues requiring escalation, while continuously motivating the team and keeping them informed of directions and developments.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set performance targets, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Monitor work activity and identify improvement areas, continually assessing workflows to enhance efficiency, and presenting findings through concise reports.
  • Ensure seamless communication between units and encourage the sharing and implementation of best practices across teams.
  • Collaborate with claims leaders to ensure quality claims management and improve the customer experience.
  • Utilize digital tools, data, and analysis to assess risk and support decision-making processes.
  • Lead change management initiatives with a focus on adaptability and high standards.
  • Cultivate a supportive and engaging work environment that values team collaboration and individual contributions.
  • Communicate effectively through various mediums, tailoring your approach to different audiences.
  • Utilize project management skills to lead projects that improve operational processes and drive strategic initiatives.

What You Bring To The Table

The Ideal Candidate Has

  • A university degree, college diploma, or equivalent education combined with relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing a high-performing team of direct reports.
  • A minimum of 7 years of operational experience, preferably in the insurance industry, with proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in Intact Leadership Success Factors such as driving change and taking accountability.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and ownership of work.
  • A self-starter mindset with minimal supervision required.
