As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for executing Lesaffre’s commercial strategy across a high-potential assigned territory. Your mission: drive profitable growth, expand wallet share, and deliver on budgeted sales targets. You’ll work closely with customers in the baking and food industry, presenting our solutions, performing demos, attending trade shows, and building long-term partnerships that create value for both the customer and Lesaffre.
What You’ll Do As An Area Sales Manager
- Develop and execute a plan to grow sales and profitability in the Southeast region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Identify and close new business opportunities to meet regional and national sales goals.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities to support sustained growth.
- Provide technical product information in collaboration with innovation and technical teams.
- Represent Lesaffre at regional trade shows, industry events, and customer presentations.
- Actively participate in local baking associations and trade organizations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (technical, R&D, marketing, leadership) to deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Stay current on baking industry trends, customer networks, and competitive landscape.
- Champion a partnership-based approach that creates value for both customers and Lesaffre.
- Maintain a resilient, proactive mindset and take ownership of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure timely and effective issue resolution through close collaboration with internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the baking or food industry.
- Strong understanding of the bakery segment, including bread, buns, pizza, crackers, and sweet goods.
- Experience selling functional food ingredients or technical marketing of food products.
- Deep knowledge of the sales process, with demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce.com or similar) for pipeline and account management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across technical, commercial, and leadership teams.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- AIB certification is a plus.
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, French).
- Ability to travel 40-50% of the time.
- This is a remote role, with candidate location to be in the Toronto area.**
