TD Legal Department: Data Enablement Team (1A)

Position Overview

Join TD Bank’s Legal Department as a Sr. Data Management Analyst and become an integral part of one of the most critical areas within the bank. As a Sr. Analyst, you will be at the forefront of managing the data that drives key legal, regulatory, and compliance decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for data management, governance, and analytics, who want to make a significant impact within a major financial institution. In this role, you won’t just monitor data — you will own it, shape it, and influence how it drives business outcomes. You will help us meet regulatory obligations, respond to audits, and strengthen client trust by ensuring that the right data is in the right place, at the right time.

This is a business-owned role, not a technical one. You will be accountable for ensuring that the data we use every day to make legal, financial, and risk decisions is accurate, complete, and trusted.

This role is not advisory — you will be accountable for the data we rely on every day.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management: Manage and oversee the lifecycle of legal data, including data collection, storage, processing, and dissemination, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Data Strategy: Collaborate with legal professionals and other key stakeholders to design and execute a data strategy that supports the department’s goals and aligns with the bank’s overall data management objectives.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Compliance, Risk, and Operations, to ensure seamless integration of data management practices within the bank’s broader infrastructure.

Innovation: Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new data management technologies and methodologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal department’s operations.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to legal professionals on data management tools, processes, and best practices, fostering a data-driven culture within the department.

Risk Management: Monitor and manage data-related risks, ensuring that the Legal department adheres to all relevant data governance standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years’ experience in data management, risk, or governance within financial services Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DCAM, DAMA, or similar). DCAM Certification preferable
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Excel (advanced formulas, macros, dashboards) for business-driven data quality visualization.
  • Ability to translate complex data issues into business terms that influence decisions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations (OSFI, Basel, OCC, GDPR, LGPD).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with legal or regulatory environments is an asset but not required.
  • A mindset of ownership, accountability, and business impact.
