Senior Project Manager / Portfolio Manager

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Portfolio Manager to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) and oversee release management processes. This role combines strategic portfolio oversight with hands-on release coordination to ensure the successful delivery of projects and deployments that align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Portfolio Management

• Lead the PMO to define, implement, and maintain standardized project governance frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
• Oversee project portfolio management (PPM) activities, including intake, prioritization, resource planning, and performance tracking.
• Ensure projects are aligned with company goals, budgets, timelines, and compliance requirements.
• Mentor and guide project managers to ensure consistent execution of the full project lifecycle (initiation through closure).
• Collaborate with Finance and Leadership teams for project budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement across project management practices, KPIs, and delivery outcomes.
  
  

Release Management

• Own and manage the end-to-end release process for software and infrastructure across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Staging, Production).
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (Development, QA, Security, Operations, and Business) to ensure release readiness, approvals, and scheduling.
• Maintain and communicate a comprehensive release calendar aligned with sprint plans and business priorities.
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate release-related risks and issues.
• Standardize change management and deployment processes, including rollback procedures and release documentation.
• Champion automation and CI/CD best practices to improve efficiency and streamline deployment processes.
  
  

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in project management, portfolio management, or PMO leadership roles.
• Strong experience managing large-scale projects and cross-functional portfolios.
• Proven expertise in release management, change management, and deployment processes.
• Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with project management and PPM tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release automation tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMP, PgMP, or similar certifications preferred.
