As they continue to expand, they are seeking an accomplished HR leader to play a critical role in shaping their people strategy and supporting their international workforce.


The Role

They are hiring a Director of Corporate Human Resources Services to lead their HR and payroll functions across multiple jurisdictions. This is a senior leadership role, reporting into the executive team and working closely with business leaders to ensure their HR strategy fully supports long-term business objectives. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in workforce planning, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and global compliance. This individual will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, while also being a hands-on leader who supports the HR and payroll teams on the ground.


Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience leading HR functions across complex organizations with multiple jurisdictions.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation strongly preferred; Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation considered an asset.
  • Broad expertise across HR disciplines, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, learning and development, compensation, and policy development.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, with international experience (particularly US and expat programs) highly valued.
  • Background in oil and gas, energy, or manufacturing considered a strong asset.
  • Experience overseeing payroll operations across multiple regions.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the business.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Willingness to travel periodically.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive and senior leadership teams to define HR strategy in alignment with long-term business goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex HR matters including workforce planning, organizational development, and employee relations.
  • Oversee payroll operations in Canada, the US, and international markets, ensuring compliance with all local regulations.
  • Lead the development and execution of HR policies, practices, and programs that enhance recruitment, retention, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with Finance to design competitive compensation and benefits programs across multiple geographies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for employment law, compliance, and workforce risk management.
  • Mentor and lead HR and payroll teams, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand operational needs and provide proactive HR support.
  • Represent the organization with external stakeholders including legal counsel, government bodies, and third-party providers.
