The Role
They are looking for a Director of Engineering to provide strategic leadership and oversight for their engineering operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep wellhead experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across domestic and international projects. They offer full relocation support for the right candidate. A Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.) designation is highly valued, and experience in the Middle East is considered an asset. The role comes with a competitive budgeted compensation of $180,000 – $220,000 USD.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering; advanced degrees (Master’s or MBA) are highly regarded.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience in wellhead systems, gate valves, or pressure control equipment, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven wellhead expertise is essential.
- Professional Engineer (PE/P.Eng.) designation is highly advantageous.
- Experience in international markets, particularly the Middle East, is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
- Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of interacting with global clients and internal teams at all levels.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical strategies into operational plans.
- Proficiency in engineering tools, project management software, and modern digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the engineering organization, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the complete product lifecycle for wellhead, gate valve, and production flow technologies, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and customer specifications.
- Serve as a key technical liaison between executive leadership and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Service to solve technical challenges, streamline processes, and ensure aligned priorities.
- Implement and refine engineering KPIs, SOPs, and process controls to drive operational excellence.
- Support business development with technical insight and solution-oriented guidance.
- Introduce emerging technologies and process improvements to maintain competitive advantage.
- Ensure engineering practices meet regional and international project requirements, adapting where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering, R&D, and Aftermarket Services to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Actively contribute to strategic planning and execution at the corporate level.
