Job Description

As PARSONS continues to grow our Water Business Sector, we are seeking to add a technical expert to enhance our multi-discipline profile in Water/Wastewater Treatment and related infrastructure, namely in the process and mechanical engineering discipline. The position will have a focus in the Alberta region including design, contract management and project management of municipal water/wastewater pumping stations, reservoirs and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this position will bring their multi-discipline and water/wastewater treatment skills based on both current and past experience working with municipal in Alberta and across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Design of water and wastewater treatment systems and related infrastructure such as potable water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pumping stations, and residuals management.
  • Competency in treatment and experience including client recognition will be key to your success.
  • Responds directly to the water and wastewater Regional Water & Wastewater Lead.
  • Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules and budgets to meet the requirements of our clients and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
  • Identifies and leads proposal opportunities including the key inputs to achieve successful submissions.
  • Assigns and reviews multi-discipline teamwork/tasks to ensure that applicable codes, standards and procedures are followed and aims for high quality is achieved.
  • Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical staff and makes reassignments as project needs arise.
  • Oversees and expedites distribution of action items following team meetings/discussions with clients.
  • Continually communicates with clients to understand their goals and expectations of the company to both enhance and expedite the project work.
  • Leads and prepares technical reports and documentation of activity for the clients.
  • Continually demonstrates strong project management skills ( timeliness, quality, cost and schedule management, company profitability etc.).
  • Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information.
  • Notifies senior program director and others as appropriate of project changes.
  • Participates regularly in project meetings with the client and the project team, demonstrating technical and project management skills.
  • Performs and displays responsibilities for other related activities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field from an accredited institution along with P.Eng. registration in Alberta is required.
  • 20+ years of related work experience is required. Incumbent should have a solid technical and consulting background as well as current and previous technical, project and client management background on high profile related projects (namely water & wastewater treatment applications).
