VIA RAIL CANADA INC., CANADA’S PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICE, IS SEEKING A JANITOR TO WORK AT ITS MONTREAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.
Main Duties
Ensure all areas are well cleaned and supplied with soap, paper, etc.
Empty all ashtrays and garbage cans, in all offices, washrooms and shops, change garbage bags, and remove garbage from building.
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, wash and wax floors, wipe desk, wash windows, ashtrays, walls and ceilings using appropriate products and techniques in all areas when required.
Clean all offices, washrooms (male and female), conference rooms, lunchrooms, employees locker rooms (male and female), foremen’s lunch room and locker rooms', entrances and hallways, employee coffee break area and first aid room.
Sweep all platforms and shops.
Clean ramps for truck deliveries and make sure all entrance are clear.
Dust all office areas and lockers.
Schedule
1:00 pm- 9:00 pm
Salary
29.19$/h
Qualifications Required
High school diploma and related experience.
Be able to clean up to a height of 3 meters (10 feet) using a step ladder;
Must attend or have completed WHMIS training;
Must be able to use and work with recommended cleaning products without risks (i.e. allergic reaction), to lift and carry a weight of up to 35kg (75 lb), , and to carry equipment and materials as required.
