Job Description

We are looking for a mid-level to senior SAN storage administrator to work in a large enterprise storage environment. He/she must be familiar with Dell ECS and IBM COS products, as well as products such as PMAX/VMAX, Pure Storage, and backup solutions such as Netbackup, Veeam, and TSM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the PMAX provisioning process using the Enabler solution's CLI interface;
  • Provide expertise in SAN migration using SRDF;
  • Provide expertise with PMAX and VMAX3 technology;
  • Daily administration of Pure Storage;
  • Monitor storage resource utilization and availability;
  • Troubleshoot storage-related issues and take appropriate action;
  • Generate reports and analyses on storage usage;
  • Possess skills and knowledge related to networks, operating systems, storage area networks (SAN), and enterprise management software solutions;
  • Install and configure new storage devices and related software;
  • Define and adhere to service level agreements with end users regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability;
  • Allocate storage to end users and development teams based on established departmental requirements and available disk space;
  • Analyze storage equipment performance, collect information, and prepare summary reports;
  • Respond to and resolve storage access and retrieval issues;
  • Coordinate with vendor support to manage hardware failures and performance troubleshooting;
  • Provide remote support outside of business hours and on weekends.


Technical Skills

  • Hardware: Dell ECS, IBM COS, PMAX, AFF/FAS filers, Pure Storage, Brocade SAN switches, IBM tape library, Pure Storage, IBM COS;
  • Software: EMC Unisphere, Ontap, OnCommand, DFM, CMNE Netbackup/TSM (preferred but not required);
  • OS: RHEL, Windows, VMware, Linux.


Qualifications

  • Solid experience in SAN administration, including PMAX, Pure Storage, storage provisioning processes, zoning, Solution Enabler, SRDF, clones, Unisphere, Performance Manager, PowerPath, FAST, Thin Provisioning, RAID, SAN troubleshooting and repair capabilities, performance troubleshooting, VMware connectivity;
  • Good knowledge of Pure Storage administration is also required;
  • Working knowledge of Brocade SAN switches and CMCNE is required;
  • Knowledge of Python and shell scripting is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Netbackup and TSM will be a huge advantage.


Excellent communication skills in English. English is required, as the position involves communicating with customers located outside Quebec.
