Your role at Baxter

This position will be supporting a project to execute depot-based hardware upgrades to client’s medical devices. It is possible that some upgrade work onsite in the field (at sites across Canada) may be required. Duties will include equipment cleaning/decontamination, inspection, upgrade, preventative maintenance, testing and record-keeping as appropriate. You are able to work in a fast-paced team environment, meet timeline and production commitments and produce quality results. This is a 12-month contract position though it may lead to opportunities for a permanent position.


What you'll be doing

  • Perform cleaning of devices and accessories per applicable standard operating procedures
  • Perform Serial number and product code verification
  • Properly stage devices following FIFO
  • Physical receiving and inspection of packages from courier
  • Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting all inbound equipment to component level.
  • Maintain and ensure certification of all test equipment as per company operating policies and procedures.
  • Test all incoming repairs to assure that results are within tolerance with respect to the manufactures required specifications

What you'll bring

  • Technician Diploma or equivalent technical experience
  • Experience using basic mechanical, diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills, ideally with medical devices OR similar electromechanical devices preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs on a routine basis
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (or similar email application)
