Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and customer service-oriented Spa Supervisor to join our team at Orrin Spa on a full-time basis.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • With personal commitment and an emotional sense of gracious hospitality, make the most positive impact on guest experiences throughout all aspects of Supervising our Spa & Health Club operations, maximizing the balance between Colleague, Guest and Owner’s satisfaction.
  • Welcome and greet guests and provide information about the facilities, services and promotions.
  • Create a positive first and last impression for our Spa guests.
  • Open and/or close the Spa on a daily basis, supporting the Spa & Health Club Manager in daily task assignments.
  • Supervise the day-to-day administration of Spa Consultants and the overall Spa & Health Club areas, in the absence of the Spa & Health Club Manager.
  • Spa administration will include: preparation of treatment schedules, confirmation of guest appointments, managing of a cash float, settling daily accounts and processing retail sales, etc.
  • Under the direction of the Spa & Health Club Manager, prepare Standard Operating Procedures related to the administration and reservation processes for our Spa Consultants.
  • Manage guest records including recording important and confidential guest information such as special occasions, unique preferences and allergies.
  • Receive and respond to telephone/email inquiries and book appointments in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Complete the initial spa consultation and inform guests of Spa Facilities available for access before and after their treatment.
  • Accurately communicate the cancellation policy to guests.
  • Successfully promote and sell all available services, products and therapies
  • Manage the retail merchandising at the spa lounge.
  • Manage inventory and stock levels - maintaining par levels, ordering/receiving supplies and inventory on a regular basis.
  • Ensure the Spa Lounge and Lobby Area is maintained to impeccable standards of cleanliness, safety and hygiene.
  • Inspect guest facilities in the Spa and Health Club (including locker rooms, fitness facilities and pool areas) to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Warmly interact with guests to develop and maintain emotional connection, actively seek feedback regarding the guest experience, treatments and services offered at the Spa with a goal to build business through positive relationships with guests.
  • Communicate any pertinent information to Colleagues and Management, as appropriate.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of all treatments and products provided in the Spa.
  • Inform the Security Department of any incident that may impact Guests or Colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance to all hotel policies, programs and core practices.
  • Undertake other ad hoc work-related responsibilities, as required.

Hourly wage is at $30.53.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a luxury spa environment or hotel Front Desk is preferred.
  • Enhanced and well-developed guest service, administrative and organizational skills are required.
  • Familiarity with luxury spa standards with Forbes and AAA is an asset
  • This role requires enhanced analytical and administrative skills - a keen eye for detail is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Book4Time reservation system is an asset.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
