We are looking for an Environmental Project Manager to support a wide variety of energy and infrastructure environmental assessment and planning projects, particularly in the transportation and energy sectors. The ideal candidate must have strong work experience with environmental standards and regulations in relation to environmental assessments and permitting, be motivated and detail-oriented, with demonstrable experience in Canada. This mid-level career role is for office locations in Ontario, with a preferred location in the GTA, however we will consider other locations.

Your Role Within The Team
- Lead, coordinate and deliver all aspects related to environmental permitting activities, particularly for the transportation and energy sector, working as part of a wider delivery team.
- Coordinate and guide efforts to obtain and comply with environmental approvals/permits for projects from regulatory agencies (municipal, provincial and federal).
- Act as a project manager/coordinator responsible for the development and management of scope, budget, schedule, and effective quality oversight.
- Assist in the development and implementation of consultation and engagement programs, including with First Nations and Indigenous communities.
- Independently coordinate and manage external subcontractors.
- Effectively delegate tasks and activities to more junior staff, providing technical and supervisory guidance on assigned tasks.
- Assist with and, as necessary, take a lead role in the development of proposals, qualification documents and other business development related activities.
- Interact with clients and regulatory agencies and ministries to ensure that projects are successfully delivered within timelines.
- Support the growth of environmental planning / environmental assessment market share in strategic markets.
- Mentor junior and intermediate professionals.

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related degree.
- 15-20 years of related experience in managing/coordinating environmental assessments and securing construction permits/approvals including for transportation and energy projects.
- Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience working with transportation and energy regulators is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with environmental project management fundamentals including cost control, scope management and scheduling.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments at one time.
- Experience working in a fast-paced engineering or environmental consulting environment.
- Full or Provisional membership in a professional body is an asset (e.g. RPP, PMP, EP).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
