The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking an experienced and passionate Video Production Manager for the Ottawa Charge. The Video Production Manager will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that showcases the team and the team’s brand across all platforms. From ideation to delivery, you will lead the production process (shooting and editing), bringing complex ideas to life through captivating storytelling. Your role will require a keen visual eye, technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. The Video Production Manager will report to the Director, Team Business Operations for the Ottawa Charge and will also work closely with the other local team Video Production Managers as well as the Brand and Marketing team at the league level to drive storytelling and engaging content that aligns with the PWHL’s brand.

Annual Salary: The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 – 88,000 CAD.
Position includes participation in all welfare, perquisites, fringe benefit, insurance, retirement and other benefit plans, practices, policies and programs, made available by the league as may be in effect from time to time.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ideate, produce, post-produce, and deliver video content for the Ottawa market, from concept development to final delivery.
- Produce, shoot and edit video content including video features, highlights, interviews and other on-demand content optimized for social media, website, app, and in-stadium platforms.
- Cover and capture events related to the Ottawa Charge as requested: games, practices and trainings, community appearances, and other events where needed.
- Shoot/edit game content and highlights on-site during all home and away games and at events as needed.
- Produce video content that engages viewers, reflects the brand, and adheres to all brand standards.
- Utilize a variety of storytelling techniques and skills to create engaging visual narratives that resonate with audiences.
- Work closely with internal constituents to understand project requirements and objectives and develop creative solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate video content into broader marketing initiatives and campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and messaging.
- Approach some video and content capture with a league perspective (i.e., equally capture both teams), and work closely with other teams’ Video Production Managers to ensure needs are being met during games.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices in video production and storytelling, and apply relevant insights to enhance our creative processes.
- Assist in media day execution.
- Design and create motion graphics for use in video features, if necessary.
- Provide general sound design and color correction.
- Help manage the logging and archiving of video content and the overall digital asset management.
- Assist with other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
- 2-5 years of experience in video production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in producing, shooting, and editing compelling visual content.
- Minimum of 2 years of shoot and editing experience on both short-form and long-form sports-related projects for digital platforms – Required.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – Required.
- Must have a strong grasp of the latest non-linear video editing techniques and visual trends, and how those apply to social and digital platforms.
- Thorough understanding of and ability to use basic video production equipment.
- Proficiency in motion graphics - Preferred.
- Experience with 3D modeling and animation - Preferred.
- Must be proficient with computers and MS Office programs.
- Must reside in Ottawa, Ontario.
- Must be available to work at team training camp beginning in mid-November.
- Ability to travel with the team, when needed.

- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well with management-level peers as well as employees in other groups across the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
- Must be able to work all home games, as well as frequent practices, training, events, and other activities where needed.
